Five Back-To-School Apps That Will Change Your Life - 08/28/2015

Five Back-To-School Apps That Will Change Your Life

MT. PLEASANT, Mich. - Between that just announced "mandatory" study group, bookclub and Tuesday Sushi Night downtown, the start of school means your schedule just got a WHOLE LOT busier! Remembering all the little details like due dates, dress codes and meeting times can get a little hectic, but thanks to our smartphones we're able to manage our time a little better. While our phones can truly be the most ultimate distraction, they can also be our most reliable asset when it comes to time keeping. Check out these five back-to-school apps that will change your life!

  1. The Homework App: This splashy app is designed to make managing due dates a breeze! Simply input your tasks and check out your calendar anytime to stay on top of your assignments. With The Homework App, you'll be acing those classes in no time! The best part? It's free!
  2.  Peek: This fancy app isn't free ($2.99) however, it makes up for it with a streamline calendar interface that is a breeze to navigate. When we’re on the go, we need a reminder app that’s clean, simple and easy to input. If it’s a pain to update, that kind of ruins the point, right? The Peek app keeps your calendar clean and stress free so you can get back to what's important (like finishing that final chapter of Finding Alaska).
  3. Wunderlist: Everyone needs a reminder for the typical, day-to-day tasks but aren't our ideas and creative inspirations just as equally important? We think so! Wunderlist is a wonderful interface that syncs with your phone, tablet and computer, keeping all of your genius ideas in one place. Wunderlist is free for IOS and Android users.
  4. Mango Health: Between classes and tailgating, keeping track of your health and medications can definitely get lost in the mix. Mango Health is a free way to make sure you keep an eye on the most important part of you: your health. This well-designed app will help keep you on track so you’ll never miss your meds again.
  5. CourseSmart: This app is the number 1 app for digital ebooks and textbooks in the country! View the full text of more than 7,000 textbooks on your iPhone — for free. CourseSmart makes its money through the licensing of e-textbooks, which expire after a certain access period, typically about 180 days. The books cost roughly half as much as their print equivalents, although there's no way to resell or keep the books past the subscription period. We loved this app!
There you have it, five back-to-school apps that will change your life! We know going back to school is difficult on everyone, especially college kids! Making sure you utilize your most valued possession (usually your smartphone) is important and a fact almost completely overlooked. iPhones and Androids do so much more than just Instagram and SnapChat! Did you know that General Motors will begin integrating Apple CarPlay and Android Auto into the 2016 model lineup? We can all thank the pros of Silicone Valley for making sure we are connected to the web from everywhere, even our vehicles! Apple’s CarPlay system and its Google counterpart, Android Auto, will soon bring their familiar smartphone screens and functionality, complete with all the intelligence and voice control technology, right to your dashboard.

If you would like to learn more about which General Motors vehicles will offer Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, feel free to stop by and chat with one of our knowledgable associates! At your local Alma Area Used Car Dealer, we have tons of beautiful new and used vehicles on site that are ALWAYS available to be taken out for a test drive! Pricing Details Have Been Released For The 2016 Camaro - 08/22/2015

Pricing Details Have Been Released For The 2016 Camaro

MT.PLEASANT, Mich. - We are excited to announce that the pricing details have been released for the 2016 Camaro! The starting MSRP for the base model of the 2016 Camaro comes in at $26,695 which is $3,000 more than last year's base model.

The sixth-generation Camaro however begins in a 1LT trim, while the previous Camaro model began at a more "spartan" LS trim. There are more reasons for the price increase, including the fact that the 2016 Camaro 1LT is actually more affordable than the 2015 Camaro 1LT, while delivering a lot more content for the money. These features include Chevrolet MyLink with Apple CarPlay connectivity (Android Auto will come later), 8-way driver and 6-way passenger power-adjusting seats, a leather-wrapped flat-bottom steering wheel, push-button start and more.

The heart and soul of the brand-new Camaro however, is definitely found underneath the hood. The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro 1LT will be a 2.0L LTG turbocharged engine with 275 horsepower and will also be available in the brand-new 3.6L LGX V6 with a best-in-class 335 horsepower and 284 ft-lb of torque.

While pricing details have been released for the 2016 Camaro
— which features a $3,000 increase over last year — , prices have not been given for the other variable options the Camaro will come in such as the , convertible form. Both will be available with 1LT, 2LT, 1SS, and 2SS trim levels.

We cannot wait for the 2016 Camaro to make its way to dealerships this fall, and you can bet we will let you know the second they pull onto our lot! At your local Alma Area Used Car Dealer, we have tons of beautiful new and used vehicles on site that are ALWAYS available to be taken out for a test drive! This truck will impress everyone with its body-colored grille surround, color-keyed door handles, mirror caps, side moldings and front and rear bumpers designed to give it a sporty, monochromatic appearance.
Let Us Introduce You to The 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 Elevation Edition

The new GMC Sierra Elevation model also sports premium headlamps with unmistakable light-emitting diode, or LED, lighting, fog lamps, and black-painted 20-inch aluminum-alloy wheels. Advanced connectivity also comes standard with every Elevation Edition as a 4.2-inch Intellink color audio system and Bluetooth phone connectivity features both OnStar 4G LTE and remote WiFi connectivity.

The heart of the truck is a 4.3-liter EcoTech3 V-6 engine which delivers 285 horsepower, 305 lb-ft of torque, and an EPA highway rating up to 24 mpg. Chevy Proves It Isn't Afraid of the Dark With the New 2016 Chevy Colorado Midnight Edition - 08/15/2015

Chevy Proves It Isn't Afraid of the Dark With the New 2016 Chevy Colorado Midnight Edition

MT.PLEASANT, Mich. - Chevrolet has recently come to the realization that maybe some good things can happen after the midnight hour. Chevy proves it isn't afraid of the dark with the new 2016 Chevy Colorado Midnight Edition.  Recently that automaker announced that the '16 Colorado would be joining the Chevy Impala, as well as the Cadillac ATS and CTS, would be getting the "Midnight Edition" trim package option. This in addition to thematically similar versions of the Chevrolet Silverado, GMC Sierra, and GMC Canyon.

As with the Impala, ATS and CTS, the Colorado comes ready to evade nighttime air raids. The grille, Chevy bowtie, 18-inch aluminum wheels, and various trim bits are all painted black, while the spray-in bedliner and tonneau cover are, of course, both black. The only available paint color? Black.

General Motors has yet to release pricing details, however the sacrifice to embrace darkness is a small one, with the Midnight package requiring only that buyers step past the base Colorado Work Truck and into a mid-level LT. It’s available in both the extended- or crew-cab body style.

Chevy proves it isn't afraid of the dark with the new 2016 Chevy Colorado Midnight Edition
and if this is the type of truck you can see yourself driving, stop by for more information from ANY of our trusted sales staff! GM Could Potentially Boost Production of Full-Size SUVs - 08/13/2015

GM Could Potentially Boost Production of Full-Size SUVs
General Motors©
MT. PLEASANT, Mich. - Many automotive insiders agree that the 2015 Cadillac Escalade, 2015 GMC Yukon, 2015 Chevrolet Suburban and the 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe are responsible for somewhere around $3 billion of General Motors' annual profit. Due to this extreme success, GM could potentially boost production of full-size SUVs.

These celebrated GM vehicles are produced in the Arlington, Texas plant and according to GMAuthority.com , the plant will be producing an additional 48,000 - 60,000 vehicles for the 2016 model year. This tip came quickly after a plant spokesperson confirmed the addition of overtime shifts being added on Saturdays at Arlington, which began back on August 1. Currently, the factory can produce an average 1,200 vehicles per day.

The news that GM could potentially boost production of full-size SUVs goes hand-in-hand with the $1.4 billion investment announcement for the Arlington plant. Many believe that the recent drop in gas prices nationwide is one of the main reasons the Crossover, Small SUV and Full-Size SUV segments have become so popular and sold so well in the last year and half.

If you would like to check out any of these General Motors SUVs, feel free to check out our online inventory, or stop by for a test drive! At your local Alma Area Used Car Dealer, we have tons of beautiful new and used vehicles on site that are ALWAYS available to be taken out for a test drive! Visit us at your Graff Mt. The 2016 Volt Gives Drivers 53 Miles Of EV Range - 08/07/2015

The 2016 Volt Gives Drivers 53 Miles of EV Range

MT. PLEASANT, MI – Chevy delivered what the customers were asking for –The 2016 Volt gives drivers 53 miles of EV range! The brand new 2016 Volt offers its drivers 53 miles just from one charge of the battery! This is almost a 40 percent increase from the first-generation Volt model.

New Volt owners are using the new 18.4 kWh lithium-ion battery, rated at a combined 106MPGe, or the gasoline equivalent. When the battery gets low the car switches over to a gas-powered generator to increase the driving range to 420 miles on a full tank.

Drivers of the new Volt are expected to use the battery power for about 90 percent of their trips, compared to the first-generation Volt owners who used battery power for only 80 percent of their trips. This is beneficial because the owners can drive easily over 1,000 miles between each gas fill up if they charge their new cars regularly.

The next-generation Volt also has a 1.5L range-extender, which uses regular unleaded fuel, and gives the driver an EPA fuel efficiency of 42 MPG, which gives the 2016 Volt 53 miles of EV range.

Statistics from the original Volt shows that customers exceeded the previous EPA-estimated mileage and are expected to do the same with the new Volt. Stay tuned to find out more about the release of the 2016 Chevrolet Volt. If you're looking for a new vehicle stop by our Alma area dealership today to check out our inventory of new and used Chevy vehicles! Visit us at your Graff Mt. GM is Driving Safer with a New Active Safety Test Area - 08/06/2015

GM is Driving Safer with a New Active Safety Test Area

MOUNT PLEASANT, MI – GM just opened a brand new Active Safety Test Area at its Milford Proving Ground costing $14 million, and stretching 52 acres. Safety engineers will develop and test safety technologies for vehicles around the world here.

The 2016 models of Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and Cadillac will offer 22 different active safety technologies, all ranging from alerts to ones that can assist drivers in dangerous situations.

Some examples of the new technologies include:
  • City Speed Automatic Braking: While city-driving at a lower speed, the system will detect if you get too close to a car and brake for you to reduce the damage of the accident or stop it completely.
  • Front Pedestrian Braking: Also while driving at a low speed, the vehicle will detect a pedestrian walking in front of your car and apply the brakes to minimize the severity of the accident or stop it completely.
  •  Rear Camera Mirror: Rather than your traditional mirror, the camera provides a bigger and less obstructed view of what’s behind you. This makes changing lanes and backing up much easier on the driver.
  • Night Vision: This is an infrared image of the area lit in front of the headlamps. It also gives the driver alerts of any pedestrians or large animals crossing.
  • Curb View Camera: When you’re parking your car the system gives the driver a look at what’s immediately in front of their car. The system will display this right on the center stack to help the driver avoid curbs, poles, and other vehicles.

The new GM Active Safety Test Area makes it easier to test all safety technologies in one place. Some of the features of the new facility include a:
  • 6-acre dynamics pad to test a number of robot-controlled and automated vehicles.
  • Highway simulation with six lanes, on/off ramps, and signs to match roads around the world.
  • Parking test area with a variety of curbs types and landscaping.
  • Pedestrian test area with a 90-degree intersection specially designed for exact dummy movement.
  • Simulated tunnel with walls and posts.
  • Building for indoor testing and observation, as well as hoists for test prep and a robotic control situation.

GM wants to set a new standard for global product safety and to continue being the leading developer of safety technologies for vehicles.

If you have questions about any of the safety options you can get with your next vehicle come to our St. Louis area used car dealership, they can help you find the perfect used car for you.Visit us at your Graff Mt. Chevy Colorado And GMC Canyon Get New Turbo-Diesel Engines For 2016 - 07/30/2015

Chevy Colorado And GMC Canyon Get New Turbo-Diesel Engines For 2016

MT. PLEASANT, Mich. - After months of teasing it finally looks like General Motors is going to release a light-duty truck with a little bit more power under the engine! GM is ready to join the diesel club of light-duty pickup trucks, and throws its hat into the game with both the Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon getting new turbo-diesel engines for 2016. GM joins FCA and Nissan by incorporating a diesel option into the popular light-duty pickup class, and both models look pretty impressive!

The new 181-horsepower diesel engine will help both trucks-models increase towing capability and fuel economy, but will understandably come at a higher price. The diesel engine will cost $3,700 more than the comparable truck with a 3.6-liter V6 engine in the Colorado or Canyon. Due to several new incorporated technologies, the Duramax four-cylinder is the cleanest diesel truck General Motors has ever produced, which is thanks in part to a cooled exhaust-gas reduction system.  This system mixes some exhaust gas back into the air intake and lowers combustion temperatures.

Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon get new turbo-diesel engines for 2016, and the powerful new diesel will showcase 369 pounds-feet of torque, which is good for towing up to 7,700 pounds in the two-wheel version (compared to the current 7,000 pounds in gas trucks). The exciting new diesel-engine Chevy and GMC models will go on sale in the fall, and the Colorado will be available in the FT and Z71 crew cab models with both two-wheel and four-wheel drive options. If you are looking to get into your own Chevy Colorado or GMC Canyon, stop by and see us! At your Clare Area Used Truck Dealership we have TONS of Used GM Trucks and Used Chevy Trucks for you to check out. Visit us at your Graff Mt. Buick Is Now Offering A 24-Hour Test Drive - 07/25/2015

Buick Is Now Offering A 24-Hour Test Drive

MT. PLEASANT, Mich. - For the past 18 months Buick has stuck with the "That's not a Buick" campaign, and consumers are seeming to respond well to it. Buick is taking that a step further, and is now offering a promotion that will make a refreshing offer to potential buyers - Buick is now offering a 24-hour test drive titled "24 Hours of Happiness Test Drive Event".

Buick feels like no-one should make the decision on purchasing a $40,000 vehicle after a 10-minute test drive, so they upped the ante! Now, potential buyers can see how the car will fit into their life and their family's lives by taking the car out for a 24-hour test drive. Do the kids like it? Does it fit in the garage? What do the neighbors think? These are all questions that can be easily answered by taking your potential new Buick home with you for a day.

Buick has been going through a mini-rebranding of sorts, no longer is the Buick just the car your grandfather had. Duncan Aldred, U.S VP for Buick explained that the 24-hour test drive is one major way Buick can change people's perceptions of the brand! General Motors has done things like this in the past, and the test was "a fairly obvious answer to the problem Buick had", explains Aldred. He wanted to make sure the test-drive event was in line with Buick's new DNA  quiet, peaceful, refined.

The fact that Buick is now offering a 24-hour test drive shows how committed the brand is to changing the consumer reception about the automaker. It is exciting to watch as Buick redesigns itself into the brand that we know everyone will love! If you are interested in ANY of our New Buick Cars or Used Buick Cars, stop by your local St. Louis, Michigan Used Car Dealer for your own 24-hour test drive today! Visit us at your Graff Mt. The 2016 Camaro Will Be Available To Order Starting August 13th - 07/24/2015

The 2016 Camaro Will Be Available To Order Starting August 13th

MT.PLEASANT, Mich. - It's safe to say the automotive world has been patiently waiting for the sixth-gen Camaro to become available to the public. When the 2015 Dodge Challenger and Ford Mustang were introduced for the 2015 model year, both cars were made available in the spring of 2014. The Camaro is fashionably late to the game but it looks like there is finally an order date that has been made public. The 2016 Camaro will be available to order starting August 13th, according to a leaked document obtained by CamaroNews.

This could mean that possibly, in 24 days, you can head down to Graff Mt. Pleasant and put cash down on the next generation, 2016 Camaro. Unfortunately this is just speculation based on a leaked document, however, it is the best lead on the availability date for the new Camaro since its release in May. In the past, the Coupe models have been made available going into the winter before the convertibles are made available, and there is no doubt that Chevy will follow that same model. The Coupe will also come with two trim level options LT and SS.

If the document is indeed legitimate, the 2016 Camaro will be available to order starting August 13th. This would also be the date that the first Camaros will start being built at the assembly plant in Lansing, per an announcement from Chevy back in June. If production and orders do start on August 13th, the new muscle cars should roll into dealerships in October or November.

Drowsy Driving Is Just As Bad As Drunk Driving - 07/11/2015

Why Drowsy Driving Is Just As Bad For Young Adults As Drunk Driving

MT. PLEASANT, Mich. - A drowsy driver is a dangerous driver. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), drowsiness or fatigue is the main cause of up to 100,000 police-reported passenger vehicle incidents a year, killing at least 1,500 and injuring 71,000. Even more fatigue-related incidents go unreported making drowsy driving just as bad as drunk driving.

Contrary to popular belief, it is not truck drivers causing there accidents. Only 1% of all the reported drowsy driving incidents are cause by semi-truck drivers due to a recent federal law that states truck drivers can only driver for 10 hours at a time in a 24 hour period. Surprisingly, in many aspects drowsy driving is much like drunk driving. When it comes to driving under the influence of alcohol, once someone has a blood alcohol level of .08% he or she is legally drunk. Recent studies have shown that a driver who has gone a day without sleep shows the same factors as a driver registering .10% blood alcohol level which is well above the legal limit.

Drowsy driving is just as bad as drunk driving, and both show very similiar signs when out on the road. Both occurrences show drivers with slower reaction times, decreased awareness, impaired judgement and increased aggressiveness. In a recent study, nine out of ten North American police officers interviewed had pulled over a drowsy driver who they thought was actually a drunk driver.

Drowsy driving is just as bad as drunk driving and parents and guardians should talk about it with their kids JUST as much. If you would like to stop by and go over the several safety features that assist GM drivers, feel free to stop by! We would love to show you the great technological safety systems in our vehicles! At your local St. Louis, Michigan Area Chevy Dealer we are always checking out the new technologies that Chevy is coming up with! Visit us at your St. Louis Area Chevrolet Dealership located at 4580 E Pickard Rd in Mount Pleasant, Michigan 48858 or our Buick GMC Cadillac Dealership located at 116 N. Chevrolet Has Engineered The Active Phone Cooling Feature - 07/07/2015

Chevrolet Has Engineered The Active Phone Cooling Feature

MT.PLEASANT, Mich. – Isn't it frustrating when you're driving and your phone overheats from streaming music and using your GPS at the same time? Most smartphones have a built in cooling feature that helps prevent this, however, that means that sometimes your phone will just shut off completely. To fight this, Chevrolet has engineered the Active Phone Cooling feature, which is an industry-first feature that cools your phone and keeps it from overheating!

So, how does this work? It is actually quite easy to understand: An air vent connected directly to the car's A/C and ventilation system is directed to the charging bin where the phone rests for wireless charging. This bin sits in the center, under the entertainment system of the vehicle. The system sends cooler air to help lower the smartphone's temperature and can only be turned on manually by the driver.

Several factors can cause or worsen overheating in smartphones like heavy strain on the device's data and graphic processors, high ambient temperatures or simply charging the device. That's why Chevrolet has engineered the Active Phone Cooling feature, which will be available on certain models of the 2016 lineup that include the new Impala, Malibu, Volt and Cruze models that are equipped with wireless charging and Chevrolet MyLink.

We cannot wait to see this new feature on the 2016 Chevy line up later this year! If you would like to check out our new or used vehicle inventory you could always stop by! Need to schedule a service appointment? You could schedule an appointment on our website! At your local St. Louis, Michigan Area Chevy Dealer we are always checking out the new technologies that Chevy is coming up with! Build Your Own Cadillac CTS-V Sedan And Make All Your Friends Jealous - 07/02/2015

Cadillac Is Now Taking Orders For The 640 HP Cadillac CTS-V

MT.PLEASANT, Mich. - Have you ever wanted to drive a luxury automobile that can reach speeds of 200 mph and has over 600 lb-ft torque? Well, you're in luck because Cadillac's CTS-V configurator site has just gone live and you can build your own Cadillac CTS-V Sedan and make all your friends jealous! Now you can finally build the luxury sedan of your dreams! The vehicle will not launch till later this summer, however, Cadillac is currently taking orders– and let us tell you, this car looks pretty sick!

The new 2016 V-Series model represents a large and significant expansion of the brand's elite, high-performance line, which is also a more luxurious turn from the brand's base models. With a top speed of 201 mph and a 0-60 performance in 3.7 seconds, the all-new CTS-V is the MOST powerful car in Cadillac's long, 112-year history, and elevates itself into the elite group of the world's highest performing sedans.

The CTS-V is also implemented with third-generation Magnetic Ride Control, which is the world's fastest reacting suspension technology and is just one of the many enhancements and features that come standard on the new 2016 CTS-V.

Of course you have to have a powerful engine to generate that speed and power, and the 2016 Cadillac sedan is equipped with a 6.2-liter supercharged V-8 and an eight-speed automatic transmission that offers full manual control via steering wheel paddles. The 2016 Cadillac CTS-V has more horsepower and torque than the Mercedes-Benz 5.5-liter biturbo V-8 and the BMW M-Series 4.4-liter TwinPower V-8. Pretty impressive huh?

At your Cadillac Graff Mt. Pleasant Dealership, we think you should definitely build your own Cadillac CTS-V Sedan and make all your friends jealous! You can do it here at the dealership, or from the comfort of your own home! Visit us at your St. Louis Area Chevy Dealership located at 4580 E Pickard Rd in Mount Pleasant, Michigan 48858 or our Buick GMC Cadillac Dealership located at 116 N. Chevy Adds Theft Alarm Notifications To Its Vehicle Assistance Service - 07/01/2015

Chevy Adds Theft Alarm Notifications To Its Vehicle Assistance Service

MT. PLEASANT, Mich. - This week, General Motors announced that Chevy is adding Theft Alarm Notifications to its Vehicle Assistance Service. The exciting new service option allows those who subscribe to OnStar to receive real-time alerts when the vehicle's alarm sounds. These alerts can be received via SMS text, email or by phone and will be available to eligible subscribers this summer.

This innovative feature is just one of the many OnStar is upgrading this year, which include Remote Ignition Block and Stolen Vehicle Slowdown. With such prompt responses and quick awareness of theft situations, customers have a greater chance to recover stolen vehicles and property. If a vehicle is stolen that is equipped with this feature (and other OnStar features), OnStar advisors will work with local law enforcement and use the GPS technology to locate the vehicle and pinpoint its location.

The Theft Alarm notifications will be sent to your chosen device by using glass breakage sensors, interior motion sensors and an inclination/tilt sensor which sounds the alarm if it detects the vehicle is being lifted off the ground, a break-in is detected or if motion is detected within the vehicle then the alarm is armed.

Chevy is adding Theft Alarm Notifications to its Vehicle Assistance Service, which most 2014 model year and newer Chevrolet models are equipped to offer. Chevrolet Revealed The All-New 2016 Chevy Cruze - 06/25/2015

Chevrolet Revealed The All-New 2016 Chevy Cruze

MT. PLEASANT, Mich. - Last night in Downtown Detroit at the Fillmore, Chevrolet revealed the all-new 2016 Chevy Cruze to the delight of press, auto-insiders, writers and car-buyers. The all-new Cruze is more fuel efficient, lighter and longer, all things that buyers felt needed to be upgraded when Chevy initially started the new remodel. Currently, the Cruze is Chevrolet's best selling vehicle so it's exciting to see what new features and updates GM has in store for 2016.

John Cafaro, the Executive Director of Chevrolet Design, explained that Chevy wanted to keep a common styling theme that began with the new Impala, extended through the 2016 Malibu and now the Cruze. The new 2016 Cruze blends conservative and luxury designs perfectly together to create a vehicle that should run away with its segment, especially since the Cruze is such a globally popular model.

Chevrolet revealed the all-new 2016 Chevy Cruze, which takes giant leaps in the safety feature technology. There are 10 air bags, a side blind zone alert, rear cross traffic alert, lane departure alert and forward collision alert. Within the updated and stylish interior, there is a completely redesigned 7-inch infotainment display that will showcase Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. All these added technology and safety features are what make the new Cruze relevant once again, as Stephanie Brinley– an industry anaylist with IHS Auotmotive– states, "They've (Chevy) been pretty conservative in this segment for some time, but that has served them well in the market. What it needs to be is fashionable and help Chevrolet get more loyalty and bring new people into the brand."

We feel that brand loyalty will not be a problem once drivers and buyers realize how perfect the all new 2016 Chevy Cruze is for them! We won't get the new Cruze here at Graff Mt. Pleasant until the spring of 2016, but you can bet we will have all the information so when it does get here you'll be well informed! Chevy Has Gone Emoji - 06/24/2015

MT.PLEASANT, Mich. - General Motors and Chevrolet are wanting to appeal more to the younger generation of buyers, and what better way to do that than release a press release in the fun, pictographic language of today's youth? Yep, that's right, you may have heard that recently Chevy has gone emoji. Take a look and see if YOU can decode it!

Chevy Has Gone Emoji

Promoting the 2016 Chevrolet Cruze, GM wanted to capture the attention of pop-culture, thus composing an entire press release using only pictures– no words– that included its very own "bow tie" logo emoji. Since the press release was released on Monday, it has since been decoded and Craig Daitch, Chevy's senior manager for social media stated, "Because emoji is international in its adoption, we wanted to have fun and be irreverent with our audience. The release is the first piece of a week-long narrative featuring emoji."

That week-long feature also includes a YouTube.com series titled "Emoji Academy", which is a short web-series that features Norm Macdonald being helped by Ashley Benson, Jamie Chung and Zandaya to learn to find his inner "emoji". Check out the third part of the web-series down below!

Chevy has gone emoji recently, and if you're dying to decipher the emoji-code, Chevrolet released it on Tuesday...

Translation:

"The all-new 2016 Cruze blends innovative technology, striking design and impressive efficiency into one sporty ride. It's the best new thing since sliced bread for stylish and socially connected people. A Chevrolet spokesperson said: "We had the idea that the new Cruze could change the world."
Design: Athletic build, stylish and good looking
Technology: 7 connected devices with available 4G LTE Wi-Fi. Cool! First in its class to offer compatibility with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Bluetooth compatible. Touch screen. Speakers/music.
Seating: Seats 5
Fuel efficiency: The 2015 Cruze offers an EPA-estimated 35 mpg hwy. The 2016 Cruze is expected to offer better fuel economy, which is awesome. Look at how much time will pass before you need to fill up your tank again!
Safety: 10 air bags. Comes with OnStar standard for 6 months.
Available: Soon! Coming in Spring 2016.
Available: Globally
In conclusion, get ready to go places in your Cruze. It has the technology and fuel efficiency you need wrapped up in a fun ride. Prepare to fall in love."

A Prototype For A Newly Updated Buick Encore Has Been Spotted Testing - 06/19/2015

A Prototype For A Newly Updated Buick Encore Has Been Spotted Testing

MT. PLEASANT, Mich. - The Buick Encore made a splash in the auto-market pool when it launched in early 2013. It arrived just in time to take advantage of the auto buyer's surge of demand for a smaller, more subcompact SUV. In 2014, Buick sold 138,218 Encores globally, which was an insane 42 percent rise on sales numbers from the year prior, and THIS year is shaping up to be even more profitable for Buick.

Even though the Buick Encore has been seeing success ever since it was launched, that doesn't mean that the Encore shouldn't stay fresh and always be tweaking things to make sure it stays on top of its game! A prototype for a newly updated Buick Encore has been spotted testing in Europe, where GM operates its European arm, Opel. Don't worry, we're seeing only minor changes for the 2017 Encore as this is considered a mid-cycle update.

These new updates, due to the camouflage gear on the prototype, suggest a few updates and tweaks to the headlights, new bumpers and possibly a new grille. Motorauthority.com expects that the 2017 Encore will make its way to dealership lots next year, and we hope they are right! Even though it is not entirely clear what power-trains will be offered with the 2017 Buick Encore, we could definitely see the vehicle adopt GM's latest EcoTec range of engines. These engines could also appear in the next-generation Buick Verano.

Whatever the power-train, we are so happy that a prototype for a newly updated Buick Encore has been spotted testing because it's one of our favorite models here at Graff GM in Mt. Pleasant! Feel free to stop by and test drive any of our new or used Buick models, or even take a look at our current Encore modelsVisit us at our Chevrolet dealership located at 4580 E Pickard Rd in Mount Pleasant, Michigan 48858 or our Buick GMC Cadillac dealership located at 116 N. Recycled Volt Batteries Help Power GM's New IT Building - 06/18/2015

Recycled Volt Batteries Help Power GM's New IT Building

MT.PLEASANT, Mich. - General Motors has always been on the cusp of retooling and repurposing their products. Recently Chevy and GM released news that recycled Volt batteries help power GM's new IT building at its Milford Proving Ground in Milford, Mich. Since the Volt usually draws its power from a band of energy in the battery pack itself, there is a TON of leftover juice for stationary usage.

Currently, five Volt batteries are housed in the administration building's circuit breaker panel, where solar energy and two wind turbines feed the power which supplies the entire IT building. In the past, recycled Volt battery covers have been used in multiple ways, including material for bat houses to nesting boxes for endangered duck species. Chevrolet is now moving forward and is tapping the energy left in the first-generation batteries.

The first-generation recycled Volt batteries help power GM's new IT building, and this secondary use application is proving to be an area where GM is thriving. Pablo Valencia, senior manager of Battery Life Cycle Management states, "Even after the battery has reached the end of its useful life in a Chevrolet Volt, up to 80 percent of its storage capacity remains." You read that right: 80 percent! The reuse of these Volt batteries has also helped the data center in Milford attain a LEED Gold certification from the U.S Green Building Council.

The energy pulled from the used Volt batteries, paired with a 74-kilowatt ground-mounted solar array and two 2kW wind-turbines, produces approximately 100Mwh of energy annually, which is enough to power 12 average households. It's no surprise that GM and Chevy are leading the way when it comes to energery conservation, and we are excited to see what they have in store for us next! If you're interested in talking about more ways Chevy is staying innovative, stop by and see us! Visit us at our Chevrolet dealership located at 4580 E Pickard Rd in Mount Pleasant, Michigan 48858 or our Buick GMC Cadillac dealership located at 116 N. Chevrolet Is Throwing Its Hat Into The Self-Driving Concept Car Game - 06/12/2015

Chevrolet Is Throwing Its Hat Into The Self-Driving Concept Car Game

MT.PLEASANT, Mich. – Chevrolet is throwing its hat into the self-driving concept car game! Recently, a sharp-edged self-driving vehicle was developed at General Motors' Pan Asia Technical Automotive Center joint venture in Shanghai.

The vehicle itself looks liking something out of a science fiction movie, and was revealed ahead of the Auto Shanghai show in Shanghai this past spring. The low-slinging body and bubble-like windshield are packed with sensors and roof-mounted radar that can read the three dimensional mapping that allows cars to navigate through traffic and steer clear of various objects. Hubless motors fit into the wheels, while dragonfly doors define the smooth side of the vehicle.

The concept vehicle comes with a ton of cool features, including the Chevy Intelligent Assistant, which enables the owner to start the vehicle through recognition of the iris in his or her eye. See? Strait out of a science fiction film! In self-pricing mode, the vehicle's front seats can swivel 180-degrees to face the rear seats, which creates a more intimate setting. The driver can switch back into manual mode through the gesture control feature.

Chevrolet is throwing its hat into the self-driving concept car game, but GM has not revealed how far the self-driving concept car is from full-scale production. However, GM is showing that the auto company is paying attention to what is quickly becoming the industry's assumed next frontier. It's so exciting to represent a company that is always on the cusp of integrating new technology into the public domain! Cadillac The Second Brand To Confirm The Integration Of Apple CarPlay And Android Auto - 06/11/2015

Cadillac The Second Brand To Confirm The Integration Of Apple CarPlay And Android Auto

MT.PLEASANT, Mich. – General Motors has announced that Cadillac is the latest car brand planning to integrate Apple CarPlay and Android Auto into new models. Certain models of the carmaker's 2016 lineup will begin including the systems in the next few weeks. Cadillac has other infotainment upgrades planned as well.

We have blogged about the all-new Apple CarPlay and Android Auto systems in the past, with Cadillac being the second brand to confirm the integration of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto after Chevrolet. Plan on seeing them roll out in Cadillac models equipped with CUE (Cadillac User Experience) infotainment system and an 8-inch touchscreen. All 2016 models equipped with the CUE system will be outfitted with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto except for the SRX, which is currently in limbo pending the launch of an all-new 2016 version.

Aside from the addition of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Cadillac also has plans to update CUE for the upcoming 2016 model year, which includes a faster processor. This processor will enable faster setup, voice recognition, navigation searches and media playing. The navigation component will also get an upgrade with redesigned map screens and a simplified command structure, including one-touch controls.

Chevrolet was the first General Motors brand to announce their plans to integrate this new technology into their system, which makes Cadillac the second brand to confirm the integration of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto! We can only hope that ALL of General Motors' models will integrate this exciting communications and infotainment system! If you would like to learn more about Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, check out this blog post about the new system! Summer Car Care Tips - 06/06/2015

Summer Car Care Tips

MT. PLEASANT, Mich.– To say winters here in Michigan are hard on our vehicles is an intense understatement. What many Michiganders don't know is that summer can be JUST AS TOUGH on your vehicle as winter. Intense heat can destroy batteries, and put stress on the tires and cooling system. Thanks to the lowest summer gas prices since 2009, many Americans will be hitting the road this summer for vacation. By making sure your vehicle is running smoothly you can avoid breakdowns or car problems that will definitely put a thorn in your summer plans. To insure a safe trip you may want to check out these summer car care tips:

  • The greatest cause of summer breakdowns is cooling system failure. The cooling system should be completely flushed out and refilled every two years. Be sure that you understand the level, condition and concentration of the coolant should also be checked periodically, especially when it first starts to warm up after the long winter.
  • Your brakes have been working hard all winter, make sure they're okay! Your brakes have kept you from sliding off the road since January, so make sure they are up to par before you head out this summer. If you notice pulsations, grabbing noises or longer stopping distances, bring your vehicle to a certified technician ASAP.
  • Maintain and check up on your air conditioning. Nothing, and we mean NOTHING, is worse than the air conditioning going out in the middle of the summer. Driving around in a car when it's 80+ degrees out is hard enough on your vehicle. Take out the air conditioning and good luck trying to go anywhere fast. Even a marginally operating system will fail in the hot weather, so have your air conditioning checked out by a qualified technician.
  • Check your windshield wipers. Your windshield wipers have been working overtime since January. A dirty windshield causes eye fatigue and can also pose a safety hazard. Replace worn windshield wiper blades and have plenty of windshield wiper fluid handy.
  • Heat zaps life away from your battery.  Many car owners believe that battery problems only occur in the winter, which could not be further from the truth. Heat and vibration are the two WORST things for a car battery, and ultimately lead to engine failure. If your car's battery is more than three years old, have it checked by a certified technician before heading out on the road.

By making sure you vehicle is good to hit the road, you can avoid any awkward waiting-on-the-side-of-the-road-for-a-tow-truck events. If you would like to schedule a service appointment with any of our certified technicians, feel free! We would love to check out your car to make sure it's safe and ready to hit the open road. Schedule an appointment online today! Visit us at our Chevrolet dealership located at 4580 E Pickard Rd in Mount Pleasant, Michigan 48858 or our Buick GMC Cadillac dealership located at 116 N.
